The client

Babcock/Holdfast are the FM provider to The Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) Wainscott and are responsible for all refurbishment works taking place on this part of the MOD estate. RSME is a series of establishments that provide training to military personell relating to all engineering skills. Wainstcott is the base for heavy construction plant and equipment and the Garage and Workshop refrubished during this project is a plant and equipment maintenance and repair workshop.

About the Project

The project involved the replacement of all M&E services within the garages and workshop forming building 22 on site including the renewal of the sub mains cables to the building which involved the undertaking of the excavation of a trench approximately 220mtrs long along the perimeter of the site. We have also carried out the replacement of the high level windows around the building and the removal of asbestos boards to the rear of the existing high level radiant heating panels system within the building. A full electrical distribution system has been designed to enable access around the building utilising metal trunking, tray and conduit. A new high output gas boiler has been installed for the LTHW system supplying the offices and small workshop area along with high level gas radiant heaters for the larger workshops and stores.
