NICEIC

NICEIC is the UK electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry. Over 25,000 contractors are registered with NICEIC and take advantage of their products and services.

NICEIC registration not only demonstrates to customers and specifiers our skills and professionalism, it also gives you peace of mind that our products and services are the best in the industry.

Association of Interior Specialists

AIS membership is not automatic and applicants are subject to strict vetting procedures. In the case of contractors, this includes inspection of recent contracts to assess workmanship standards. The main criteria for membership is that companies should:

  • Conduct their business in a manner that reflects credit on the AIS and themselves.
  • Adopt and commit to the principles and practices laid down by the AIS.
  • Act with the utmost integrity towards others and exercise high standards of business practice and workmanship.
  • Not mislead clients, architects or other employing bodies by fact or implication as to the performance of their products or systems.
  • Ensure that they are conversant with and adhere to relevant British Standards (and, where appropriate, international and European Standards) and other relevant technical Standards, Regulations and practices.
  • Insofar as they are able, ensure that their products or systems are tested and / or comply with the recognised Standards specified by the client or statutory authority.

Construction Line

Constructionline is the UK's largest register of local and national pre-qualified construction and construction-related services. Set up in 1998, Constructionline is designed to streamline procurement procedures, reducing supplier and client costs and wasted time and effort at the pre-qualification stage, rendering the construction industry more efficient and effective. To qualify for membership companies must comply with requirements appropriate to public and private sector procurement and as agreed with the Department of Trade and Industry.

IOSH is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals with over 31,000 members worldwide, including more than 11,500 Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners.

The Institution was founded in 1945 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that sets professional standards, supports and develops members and provides authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety issues. IOSH is formally recognised by the ILO as an international non-governmental organisation.

AIS Interior Fit-outs Gold Award 2013

In recognition of its work carried out on behalf of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water at Glaslyn in Newport, Bbi has been presented with the Gold Award in the Interior Fit-Out category at the 2013 AIS Contractors Awards. The awards, which are designed to help promote high levels of craftsmanship and design, are presented to AIS contractor members who have delivered outstanding projects of exceptional quality and value. Bbi received the award for its work for Glaslyn, a former call centre that was transformed into a new high-spec water testing laboratory with office facilities.

AIS Interior Fit-outs Award -
Value Band over £250,000.00

AIS Contractors Award - Value Band over £250,000. Bbi submitted their fit out for EADS Defence Systems at Newport South Wales, to this prestigious award scheme. The scheme which had a value of £1,000,000 was adjudged "Highly Commended" against some very stiff competition. Details of the scheme can seen under our projects section.

AIS Interior Fit-outs Award - Value Band Up to £500,000.00

Bbi submitted their fit out for CODA plc Headquarters in Harrogate, to this prestigious award scheme. Competition was fierce but Bbi's contract went on to win the Gold Award in the 2007 AIS Contractors awards presented at the Dorchester Hotel in London. On presenting the award, Robert Fry - European Managing Director of Swanke Hayden Connell Architects - in his role as Guest Judge, commented: "With a construction stage of only eight weeks, this vibrant training suite project demonstrated an exceptional level of service and client engagement to achieve a very high standard of fit-out. The design and build contract utilised new design talent from the outset and the effort put in to achieve the successful co-ordination of materials, furniture and fittings is exemplary."
